Event Overview: The West Virginia Primary Care Association (WVPCA) is partnering with Online Business Systems to provide on-site HIPAA Security Risk Assessments for West Virginia Community Health Centers. Online Business Systems will perform the assessment to identify risks to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI) as defined by the Department of Health and Human Services. Online will provide written recommendations regarding any identified gaps in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Online will work with the health center to mitigate any identified gaps and help the organization work toward HIPAA compliance and the HITECH Act information security requirements. Estimated timing of Risk Assessment for clinics will be determined based on the number of clinics participating.
These assessments are conducted at the Health Center site. It is a project/training/assessment which occurs over several months at the various sites. No traditional training/event is held at the WVPCA site or any other site, only onsite visits to Health Centers by OBS staff.

Event Date: Assessments will be provided on a first come, first serve basis, with only 12 CHC participation slots available, and will start in early September and end in October, with reporting completed by December.
Price: The security risk assessment is being offered free of charge to Health Center Controlled Network (HCCN) participating FQHCs and LALs! This security risk assessment is usually $7,000 per CHC!
